My mom found this recipe and first used grapes, although I prefer it with strawberries or canned peaches. Put a layer of fruit several inches thick in a bowl, put a layer of sour cream over it, and then sprinkle on brown sugar. Let it melt. Do not refrigerate, just let the brown sugar melt and mix in with the sour cream. You can put a second layer of brown sugar after the first melts. I love this recipe since I can make it when I'm outdoors and let it sit for a couple of hours and then serve it. It's always a hit at the historical events I go to (although it's not an historic recipe). Gwen

This sounds yummy! I'll have to give it a try, since it is so simple to make. I don't really have a favorite summertime dessert. I'm a big dessert freak, and love just about anything. Whenever I go to a restaurant I haven't tried before, the first thing I check out on the menu are the desserts

We made a yummy one that had oreos for the crust and then strawberries and coolwhip in the center and topped with more coolwhip. I will have to find the recipe it was good. You put it in the freezer to harden so it was kind of like a homemade icecream. Debby
