Jeremiah is set in a future post-apocalyptic world where, almost a decade before, a deadly virus wiped out the world's adult population sparing only those who haven't reached puberty. Now in their 20s, the oldest survivors of the pandemic include Jeremiah and the colorful but cynical Kurdy. Jeremiah is on a personal quest to relocate a mysterious place called Valhalla, which his father claimed might hold some hope for the survivors. As Jeremiah falls into a reluctant partnership with Kurdy, both explore new areas and encounter other groups of young adults who are divided into rival social groups. In the course of the season opener, Jeremiah's smaller personal quest is redirected when he discovers a group of highly organized survivors who want to enlist him to orchestrate peace among the warring factions and to try and prevent the killer virus from returning.

The first episode had a market that looked like Blackjack Fairgrounds.

I also really enjoyed hearing morse code on the radio.

I'm in the third episode now and I really like the teen who thinks he's a comic superhero.

The characters in this show are just not as likeable as our Jericho family.

Wow, they even showed us a mushroom cloud!

Makes me long for Jericho.

The series seemed a bit too Mad Max to me. But almost anything is better than more faux-reality tv.

It was interesting to see that Jeremish upped the action part of the series, by introducing a group that survived the plague and want to return the world to the way it was.

That is similar to what Jericho did by bringing in J & R and the Allied States.

Jeremiah continues through August in 4 hour blocks, Thursday nights on the Sci Fi Channel (check your local listings).

Watched another 3 episodes - missed the fourth since I had company and the TiVo machine turned off. I know Sci Fi is not showing these in order and I'm not sure if that is making the story hard to follow.

Hi all...

I have watched several episodes so far and I like it. I have DVRed and I am missing a few episodes and watched out of order. It has my interest. Yep I like the Morse code. Thanks Gwen for bringing this to our attention.

Are they making any new episodes?

Hi K6,

No Jeremiah ran for two seasons on Showtime and the Sci Fi.com Jeremiah page has a list of the episodes in the order they were shown.

I have no idea why Sci Fi is running them out of  order.

In some ways, Jeremiah is more like the old Westerns where several characters traveled from town to town and the stories are based on where the characters are. This makes the base story a little hard to follow.

But then Star Trek was originally billed as "Wagon Train to the stars".

I've gotten rather lost on what is happening on Jeremiah, since it's hard to keep 4 episodes fresh in my mind. I will say that this series is Jericho like. The season one cliffhanger is alos like Jericho, there is even a mysterious Mr. Smith.

I highly recommend getting this series on DVD.
