This is a new project that Susandavis2 and I are doing. This started by a conversation where I remarked that the Jericho Creative Team had made a wonderful world for us to play in. Susan knows that I also attend historical events, so she asked me if I could think of a Jericho event. We jointly created the idea of a crossroads event. The basic event in historical recreation is something that people would travel to, so in the Jericho world (without a lot of cars) travel camps would probably spring up for the travelers on the road. Most of these travel camps would be at a crossroads, hence the name "crossroads event". What could be done at an outdoor crossroads event? The short answer is anything you want. The long answer we need your help with. If you could attend a Jericho event what would you want to see/do: Panels or Talks? Classes? Hands-on activities (making or doing something)? Contests or competitions? Role playing? Would you want a one day in the park kind of event or a weekend camping? How far would you travel to attend one of these events? Please let us know your opinions, so we can begin to plan the first crossroads event. Gwen

I should also add that this type of event is less expensive than a convention, and requires less planning time. This type of event can be done on a regional basis and have it rotate locations. For a camping event not everyone needs to camp, lots of people "motel camp" and in most areas you can find a site near a motel. Anyone for a Bailey's tavern in the moonlight? I have enough canopy space to run one, and I have a full camp kitchen. Gwen
