Although it has taken longer than expected, we are pleased to announce that Jericho Kansas Inc. is now a California Corporation (Corp. ID #3009488). Also, we have chosen our founding Board of Directors and Initial Officers. A short bio of our Directors/Officers is listed below.
While we have your attention, we would like to address a few of the concerns that have been posted on the various Jericho forums:
1. We are not trying to form the *official* or *only* Jericho Fan Club.
2. Jericho Kansas is not an exclusive club. Our mailing list is open to all. To sign up go to: www.jericho-kansas.com/lists/ The mailing list will keep you up-to-date with the progress we are making on our non-profit status and will announce when we are open for memberships.
3. This corporation is not for personal gain. We are forming a non-profit corporation, which by definition, has assets that are irrevocably dedicated to charitable purposes.
4. We are taking into account what the fans want, by keeping track of concerns that the fans have expressed and forming a Fans Advisory Committee.
5. We are forming this club slowly to make sure that all concerns are addressed and that all legal procedures are followed. We regret that it is taking so long, but we want to do this right!
Without further ado, we are pleased to announce the Directors and Officers of Jericho Kansas Inc.:
Susan Davis—Director
Susan (susandavis2) lives in Dover, Delaware. She was involved for 7 years with two non profit community service organizations. She was also involved in the running of a for profit corporation in the CATV Industry for 8 years.
Ken Dobbe—Director
Ken (airassault101) is currently living in Mississippi. He has been serving in the U.S. Army for 14 years and have been deployed several times. He’s a diehard Chicago sports fan and an avid movie/TV viewer. He watches Jericho every week and sent copies to fellow Soldiers that were deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Mary Erickson—Director
Mary (Macadamia Mary) is a fan of Jericho. She works in the Entertainment Industry in Los Angeles and is happy to help her fellow fans.
Mark Fabian—Director/Vice Chairman
Since 2004 Mr. Fabian (mefabian) has served as Vice-President/Treasurer of Lion Battery Inc. a leader in online battery distribution and wholesaling. A member of the Society of Plastics Engineers and a Senior Member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Mr. Fabian has also been quite active in volunteer work for over 30 years and has experience in performing financial audits of non-profit organizations. He presently lives in Quebec, Canada with his wife, Wendy, their three cats and a dog.
Jeff Knoll—Chairman of the Board/President
Jeff Knoll (AlasJericho) lives in Oakville, Ontario, Canada where he serves as an Elected Municipal Councillor for the Town of Oakville and Region of Halton. He is also the CEO of Film.Ca Inc. which owns and operates two movie theatres in Oakville & Burlington. Jeff has extensive experience in serving in management capacities in non-profit organizations. He is married with five children from 7 to 23.
Gayle Kopitske—Director/Chief Financial Officer
Gayle (gkkatz1) lives in Santa Barbara, California. She has worked in financial positions for several different non-profits. She is currently working as a Staff Accountant to one non-profit, and serving as a Director and Chair of the Finance Committee to another non-profit.
John Wells—Director
John (JerichoJohn)lives in Slidell, Louisiana where he has his general law practice. He is also a retired USN Commander. He has formed numerous “S” and non-profit corporations and has also served on the Board of Directors of four non-profit corporations. He is currently the Vice-Chair of the Guardians of Jericho, Inc.
W. Gwen MacKenzie-Roeder—Secretary
Gwen (ratkeeper) lives in the San Francisco Bay Area of California with her housemates, two pet rats and a dog. She has been involved with various fandom non-profits for 30 years. She has helped with the incorporation of a fandom group, and has served as both a Director (4 years) and Secretary (10 years) in that non-profit.
In the coming weeks, we will be working as a team to refine our governance and develop our business plan. Shortly, we will be posting a survey that we hope many of you will take some time to complete to provide us with some feedback to determine what you expect from Jericho Kansas! Also, we will soon be formally launching our website with a forum, blog and much more. So stay tuned, there will be much more to come!
