Sell Jericho Billboard Campaign

Needed $7500 - This is the cost of a one month rental of the board, production and shipping.

Hey Gang,

We are at deadline day #1 - but we have not met our target unfortunately. As of 1:00 pm EST we have collected $1276, which is a fair distance from the $7500 cost of this project.

Having said that, we are not giving up!  Please keep your money coming in.  Help us push this across the Jerichoverse. And yes, we have a big surprise coming up in some more cool e-Bay items!!The ad agency we are working with is not putting pressure on us for payment yet, so we can use this time to our advantage and keep beating the bushes for the cash.

DangRabbit has completed her draft art for the board which I have in VERY high resolution right now. I will post it as soon as I can get a web friendly version so you can all see.

So, in short it's "GAME ON" and we are going to work on this beyond the deadline. I am sure we can do this folks. Just think about the buzz we will create when everyone who is anyone drives by the honking huge billboard EVERY day on the way to work. This will be the talk of tinseltown.

Update from AlasJericho, as of 5 pm ET:

New total = $2648.78

That is $1525 in donations and $1123.78 in e-Bay pledges so far

$4851.22 to go to reach our $7500.00 goal!!

DBS has deleted the threads on this. I wonder if there is a way to have the tally and links of the JKI home page. I had bookmarked the aution so I could follow. I will be donating after I see if I win anything.

Hi Debby,

I just e-mail Mary and asked her where she and Jeff will be posting updates.

I noticed that in another thread on CBS someone said they had contacted CBS about the fundraising. Once a complaint like that happens, then CBS is more likely to come down hard on the fundraising. Once you buck a complaint upwards in a corporation - don't be surprised if you don't like the outcome (The person was complaining about the TV ad campaign and has now hurt all fundraising).

The total raised for the billboard is $4678.51 as of 9 am eastern today.

Hey Gang and Happy Sunday!  (To my fellow Canadians - Happy Victoria Day Weekend, eh?)

We do not have an exact update for you because we are processing a VERY large number of e-Bay transactions that have closed in the past 24 hours, but I know everyone is quite anxious to have an idea of where we stand.

In donations, we have $1900.50 and in e-Bay we have (between closed and ongoing auctions) we have approximately $4395.00 for a total of $6295.50. Keeping in mind our budget is $7500 for the billboard campaign, we are $1205 short (plus PayPal and e-Bay fees that I have not calculated yet).

Therefore, I would suggest that we are likely in need of approximately $1600.00 more in donations and increased bids on our e-Bay stuff. We have one more item to auction that will go up tonight thanks to our friends at Jericho-Kansas.com.

We have come a long LONG way since we began the billboard push and I am certain we are going to make it.

The one problem we have at the moment is that donations have almost stopped and most of our revenue is coming from e-Bay and that is also winding down. Therefore, we really need you to help us make the final push to get us over the top. I am not asking you to rob your rent fund, but I am suggesting that everyone fan out to all Jericho boards and really push people to make  that donation that they might have  been putting off thinking that "somebody else" was going to do it.

We will continue to count, package, ship and beg over here while we counts the days until the end of this campaign and the unveiling of this mind-blowing billboard!

We are pleased to announce that we have reached our financial goal for the billboard campaign and we are a go!

Thank you to all the donors, bidder and cheerleaders for all you did to help us achieve this goal!

I am going through the contracts and final details tonight and I discovered that the billboard we are using is a CBS Board!!  What an irony!!

We will post much more information as we move to implementation and media phase of this campaign.

Please cross post this to all Jericho outposts and stop donating!  DO NOT stop bidding, because our victory is based on the remaining e-Bay items achieving a certain income and all items getting paid for.
