Each pet of mine gets a Christmas present in their stocking, which are hung up in the living room.

Does your pet get anything?

My baby was born on Christmas Eve 2006 so she will definitely get a Christmas present this year!

I usually give my cats treats or some new toys.  This year it will probably be treats since they have more than enough toys.

They both do and they have nice big stocking over the fireplace.

Last year my cats got a 8x8x10 pen. We got a new neighbor who hates animals and started trapping them. I put many play areas in the pen, climbing boards, a huge hammock (their favorite spot) scratchingposts (which they didn't use.....they prefered the 4x4's that make up the pen. This year I am adding steps and a three story house like you see at pet smart stores. What I haven't decided is whether to adopt another cat as a Christmas present for myself. I'm thinking it may still be a bit soon.

I do love seeing that I'm not the only one who loves to spoil my animals.

And, since meeting alphawolf, I am also sending a donation to the Save the Wolves program.

Well you could give them toys, then after a week gather the toys up and put them away to give them back again next holiday season!

My pets have always had their own stockings, so I was sure to carry that on with my son's pets.

His Beta Fish got a stocking with some fish food in it from Santa.  And yes, Santa brought Flipper a new, bigger home for Christmas as well.  Santa also made sure to mention in his letter to my 8 year old son how important it was that he be responsible for his pet.

This was a highlight of Christmas morning.

How wonderful of you to make your son aware of the responsiblity he owes to his pet.

oh trust me, he needs the reminder...he also gets a few words about cleaning up his room and brushing his teeth better.  I am so bad arent I?

Sad, kids will listen to Santa before mom.. lol

Must use the power of Santa!

In November, my Mom would tell us to clean our room and place all the games/toys we weren't playing with in a stack. She said we had to make room for the new stuff that Santa would bring. She also told us that we were "giving away" all the old stuff. I used to think that all our old toys would end up in the land of misfit toys. : )

My rat gave me a nice after Christmas present. I woke up to find Marian, my explorer, in my bed! She had gotten down from her cage (four feet above the floor) and found her way to my bed on the opposite side of the room.

I'm so lucky I didn't squish her!
