Hi all, over here in the UK, last night was the first showing of Winters end.
I was rather suprised that the writers etc decided to kill both april and the baby.
It's very brave for a TV show to kill off a 'main' character, but i feel the timing could have been better.
Consider......
During the battle in the final episode (which i haven't seen yet)
as we see the brave folk of Jericho in a desperate struggle for survival, we see elsewhere, April going through a difficult labour, as all seems lost, she continues (as a metaphor) to fight to stay alive.
As Johnston dies, the baby is born but is struggling.
As the battles continues (i'm guessing) the fight to save April continues.
So when the good people of jericho win, April looses her battle, the baby recovers.
Aprils final words...call the baby Hope.

Death and rebirth, Hope for the future!
The baby could have been a great metaphor for the hope of Jericho and the Nation!

I think Eric as a single father would have been interesting. I can just imagine Mary caring for him as she tends bar! Then think of Gail's reaction when she walks in the bar.
