USO Opens First USO Center in Balad, Iraq


Gen. David Petraeus, Commanding General of the Multi-National Forces in Iraq, spoke to service members during an opening ceremony for a USO facility at the U.S. airbase in Balad, Iraq, Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008.

Very cool!  I volunteered at the San Diego USO for almost two years when I was still living in San Diego.  It was a lot of fun, and I met some really interesting people from all over the States.
