I have read that the upcoming season stryline has a lot to do with the fact that hawkins' still has an unexploded bomb. The premise of this being it can be analyzed to determine who is responsible and where the material came from.This makes a lot of sense, however i recall hearing in one of the episodes that NYPD caught the NYC bomber before the bomb was set off. did anyone else hear this?. and if so, what happened to that device?

I don't know, but that may mean that the Eastern government also has an unexploded bomb, unless someoe form the Allied States managed to get it back.

The fact the east has one won't scare the dude from the west as they can claim it is al propaganda to tear down the gov. But Hawkins is more of a smoking gun with in their territory.

I don’t know that saying it is propaganda is enough to invalidate a NY bomb. Perhaps they didn’t actually recover the bomb?

 If saying a NY bomb is propaganda then how is Hawkins’ bomb a smoking gun? It isn’t simply what Cheyenne would say about a NY bomb, but also what would Texas, Canada, Mexico, UN Peacekeepers, etcetera say?

Seems to me it is either a plot hole or they can’t have the NY bomb.
