yeah thats becoming evident in his dealings with Hawkins. After episode 4 you can see him turning the corner.

It is actually bugging me how many people can’t see that the writers do distinguish between individuals and the groups they’re in. Not all the citizens in Jericho are ‘good guys’ and not all those associated with Cheyenne are ‘bad guys’.

That's what makes the story interesting to me. The characters aren't just black and white (bad or good). Also the writers are allowing the characters to change - like Dale who was just a spoiled teenager last year, but is turning into a hero this year.

I don't see them as one or the other but in Beck's case he is following what he BELIEVED to be true but like mlost people when he learns its not he acts on it accordingly.

What I like about Beck is he is intelligent enough to know the difference between the letter of the rules and the intent and spirit of the rules.

I can't decide.  I have a feeling that after tonights episode that I'll not like him (hence bad guy).  I think mostly he appears to be loyal to the Cheyenne and they appear to be baaad, which by assocation...but I'm hopeful that we will get to see him realize that Hawkins and Jake are right and come beside them to fight...maybe next season?

I don't know..I think episode 6 is a turning point for him and we see it at the end of the show. Somehow I think he becomes more of an asset for Jake and Hawkins in a season 3
