When I do edit or reply the page comes up but it won't let me type. I have tried everything I know to do to type in the reply edit box but it won't let me enter data.

Just used IE to post because I can't start a thread using Netscape but coudn't add a link even using IE. I can add it to a quick reply but not when I start a reply or reply the regular way.

I’m not sure how old that version is. Netscape is at 9 and generally third parties support back two versions. If you really dislike IE have you looked at Firefox?

I wonder if Netscape is dead now. I notice the main page says no support after Feb.

I haven't upgraded to nine yet but only have problems on this site. I was aslo having problems with IE that day it woulnd't let me copy and paste into the original topic but would with quick reply. I need to save my bookmarks and upgrade my browser. I did read that netscape would no longer be supported. I jus thate having to relearn the browser idosynicraices. I am sure I spelled that wrong.

I understand the reluctance of having to learn a program’s idiosyncrasies. If you know IE and like it, I’d stick with it. If you don’t know IE, I’d suggest Firefox as it has roots to Mozilla/Netscape.

As to the problems with the forums and this site, most of them are traced to earlier browsers, but the bulk of the issues you had during the beta were actually due to the forums being, hrrm, how to explain this…short answer there was a component on the page which was interfering with the ability for your browser to communicate with the forum. Think of it a bit like a cage around your mailbox keeping you from getting and sending mail. That component is no longer used with the forums and really those issues were not the fault of the forum software. Any issues in the last 6 to say 8 weeks (when the component was removed) seem to be browser specific.

If you can find a link to the version of Netscape you were using, I can try to track that issue down more, but when I go to the netscape page they only offer version 9 of the software.
