I still love the alternate ending. I love Jake haivng to leave Hawkins behind.
This storyline would have tested both Jake and Hawkins.
Hawkins would have been tortured and perhaps we would learn more about him and Valenti.
Jake would have had to go rescue his friend. He would have had to curb his tendency to shoot from the hip and learn to plan with Chavez. I don't think Chavez would have been as patient as Hawkins was!

I think that this would have been the version aired for the end of Season 2 if Jericho had not been cancelled. It set up a great cliff hanger, much like the end of Season 1. My only problem with the alternate ending was Hawkins being able to blow up the air control tower when he had no explosives with him and then seeing him running across the tarmac to the plane. Granted, he didn't make it to the plane, but he was too badly wounded to have been able to run like that, wasn't consistant with the rest of the episode. The aired ending did well to try and tie up the story line and give closure, though. I'm sure that we can all agree that we would have enjoyed seeing a full season for Season 2, as well as, a Season 3, 4, etc. It was a great show which a unique blend of characters and plots.

I watched the alternate (unaired) ending yesterday and I still like that one better!
I got to watch with another Ranger who had not seen it before.

I agree that the alternate ending is better and certainly setup Jericho's storyline for continuation.

I for one would love to see Jericho pick up where either Season 2 finale left off... would make for a heck of a ride... Personally, they might get more traction focusing on the Civil War and keeping thing focused on the town and how things develop as Americans try to put America back together again.

I think you’re right. If they don’t focus on the ‘civil’ part of war, then it would be much harder to bring the story back to Jericho, where if they make it about civilians dealing with war, it can be set in Jericho. |

The storyline for season 3 (in the comic) has two plot arcs - Hawkins, Jake and Chavez out on the road and everyone else in Jericho.
The on the road gorup will evnetually be brought back to Jericho.

Certainly would be nice to see this brought to the screen again.
