Jonathan E. Steinberg is one of Hollywood’s rising stars. His very first outing, Jericho, quickly gained a cult following. When the network cancelled it, the fans who loved it fought to bring it back—and won! Following Jericho, Jon wrote and sold several pilots, and then went on to develop Human Target (a DC Comics adaptation) for Fox. It aired for two seasons. Always busy, he currently has three series in development, and it was just announced that ABC has ordered a pilot for his reimagined Beauty and the Beast.

I was turned on to the series by BFTC user cwmeats, (thank you by the way.) Although some of the subplots are predictable, the boy gets girl, boy looses girl and then the boy gets girl back type of stuff, the series was entertaining.

Hi Everyone,
As some of you are already aware, my husband, Ranger Robert had a heart attack at the begining of the month. He had a triple by-pass operation and is recovering nicely. I've not been able to be on the Jericho boards as much this month, but I will be ramping up again after the New Year.
Jericho Restoration Update
At Comic Con 2011, IDW told us the Jericho announcement was postponed, but would be made at a future con. That statement was the one circulated. The actual statemenet from IDW is "A Jericho announcement would most likely by made at the next con."
The next con is WonderCon 2012. IDW has confirmed they will be at the con and asked if the Jericho Fan Table will be theere. I repllied yes and I was given a new contact.
Take a minute and let this all sink in. If the Fan Table is getting a new contact, then IDW is not done with Jericho!!!!
I also touched base with Dan Shotz this mnonth. Dan had nothing to report, but confirmed that when he gets news he will be in touch.
Please keep Jercho in your hearts and check in with the other rangers (in person or on-line) in the New Year.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays,
Gwen

This past week, Rino Scanzoni, chief investment officer at GroupM, openly decried Nielsen’s national, sample-based TV measurement. Although Scanzoni has an inherent bias (GroupM’s parent WPP owns Nielsen competitor, Kantar, which has a set-top-box data-based TV measurement system of its own called RaPiDview), his words still speak volumes about the state of TV audience measurement and the need for a new system.

A few weeks ago, we reported that the USA Network had set a Thursday, January 26 premiere date for its new series Common Law, which stars Michael Ealy and Warren Kole. It seems the network has had a change of heart, and will now debut Common Law sometime this summer.

Citing two waves of consumer research -- a year-old study conducted with comScore and Interpublic, and a phone survey conducted in September by political consultants -- super rich media developer SAY Media says about a third of online users no longer watch "live" TV programming, but utilize alternative platforms -- including online video -- to watch it. To reach those users, SAY unveiled a new targeting system dubbed, "Off The Grid," which serves ads to users who no longer watch live TV programming. SAY says it is partnering with Quantcast on the new targeting system..

The USA cable network has set January 26 as the premiere date for its new drama “Common Law,” which is currently in production in New Orleans. And how’s this for Hollywood magic at work: The series, which stars Michael Ealy (“FlashForward,” “The Good Wife”) and Warren Kole (“The Chicago Code,” “24”) as detectives who pursue couples counseling to settle compatibility issues, is set in Los Angeles.
