Call us petty, but we still hold a grudge against networks for axing so many amazing programs over the past eight years. Thanks to DVD, some of these underappreciated shows have found a second life, though many of them have continued to be neglected by their studios thanks to a seemingly indifferent public -- or just a lack of enough produced episodes to warrant the boxed-set treatment. They may be gone, but as far as we're concerned, they're not forgotten. In alphabetical order, here are the post-millennial dramas that should've lasted longer

We need to write to NBC Universal and Bonnie Hammer letting her know is a polite but firm way that we want Jericho and not a look a like.

If you miss Network Ten’s 2007/2008 hit Jericho then fear not, it is being turned into a movie. CBS dumped the show after it rated poorly in its first season and then again after it was brought back for a second season. Ten also gave it fairly poor treatment after initially “fast-tracking” the show.

Surely you remember the television series Jericho? If not, perhaps you should start watching reruns of the series on the CW's Sunday schedule, but in a nutshell, it's about a small rural town which deals with the aftermath of a nuclear attack on major cities in the United States—and, especially, with the need to survive, now that they're by themselves. The series was cancelled last year, and fans were quite successful in pushing for a second season, only to see it cancelled again after seven episodes.

“Jericho” was only on television for two seasons but it looks like it may be getting geared up for a film version. The intense drama may have been too intense for the small screen, perhaps the big screen will be a better venue.

Yes, like thousands of others out there, I am still reeling over the cancellation of the cult hit, Jericho. Sure, it didn't have the best acting or plot lines but still it was a very timely look at what would happen if the US was the victim of a nuclear terrorist attack that was orchestrated by our own government. I started watching it as a form of therapy since as a small child I was always haunted by the prospect of a nuclear apocalypse thanks to watching The Day After. Yes I know if you watch that made for TV movie now it is horrible and just absolutely laughable but back in 1983 when the cold war was still raging and you are 10 years old, it was some scary shit!

This is news that shocked me when I heard it in the last day or two, but fans of the series Jericho should really be happy about this one. The series hit CBS a couple of seasons ago, and even though it had a strong fanbase of people that supported the series, it never did really pull in the ratings a series needed to stay on the air.

First, Jericho aired season one on CBS to dismal numbers but huge fan appreciation. Then, it was canceled. Then, fans sent peanuts in droves to CBS to keep it on the air. Then, CBS decided to give it another shot and they uncanceled it. Then, it re-premiered and the fans still didn't come to watch it so, again, it was canceled after a half of a season. Now, it runs (reruns) in syndication on CBS's sister station The CW where the ratings trump those of it's original run.

The executive producer of the television series Jericho, the series that shows the effect of a nuclear attack on a small town in middle America, has revealed that they are working on a film that will take the idea of the show onto bigger and better things.
However at the same time his comments sound like this is in the really early stages, and despite the series doing well with a rerun in the U.S. it does seem as though it will face a tough battle.

I watching an episode of Threshold on Universal HD in December when an ad for the late, lamented short-lived series Jericho popped up. I thought, at first, that it was a promo for a rerun of the show on UHD. Not so. Turns out it’s part of a fan-funded and fan-produced crusade to revive the show. Its online HQ, SaveJerichoAgain.com, says that the ad also aired earlier in 2008, in June and September, in Los Angeles.

For being a fly-over state, my home state of Kansas seems to show up in pop-culture more than I would expect. Whether in television shows or in movies it seems Kansas serves as a kind of symbol for the Apple Pie Americana that's supposed to tug at our patriotic heartstrings. Yet whenever Kansas appears on the TV or at the cineplex, I can tell you that, having been born and raised in the Sunflower State, rarely does anyone take the time to actually ensure that Kansas as presented onscreen bears any resemblance to the real thing. Not that I can blame them, because really, it's called a fly-over state for a reason, that reason being once you venture in you might never escape. But for what it's worth, here are three misconceptions about Kansas from pop-culture.

'Jericho' tops list of Top 5 DVD releases
Making the complete series set of "Jericho" my first choice should not surprise anyone. The program's portrayal of how realistic characters from a small town would respond to a somewhat realistic wide-spread nuclear attack presents so many topics for discussion that watching the episodes repeatedly has value; further, the ongoing nature of the story makes watching several episodes at one time very worthwhile.
