Jericho's Fall Finale: Vox Populi

Review by vexingmodstwo.

Source: Fangasm.

Well, it's official.  Gracie's dead.  Dale had the misfortune of finding her in the morning.  Right away, Grey Anderson started angling.  I really hate that guy.  He's using every crisis to try to become mayor.  What the?  Who cares?  It would be one thing if he was doing it because he really cared about the town and its people.  But this guy just wants to become mayor just so he can say he won something.  LOSER!  Then he rounds up a vigilante group to go after Jonah.

Article by Matt Webb Mitovich.

Source: TVGuide.com

As the star of the WB's short-lived Birds of Prey, Ashley Scott played no less than the love child of Batman and Catwoman. These days, she is contending with an equally far-out yet more sobering role on CBS' postapocalyptic hit drama Jericho (Wednesdays at 8 pm/ET). Will Emily ever find her MIA fiancé, whose plane was found abandoned after the blast? If not, might she restart her romance with Skeet Ulrich's Jake? And what does Em's portrayer know about the super-mysterious Hawkins? Episode 8 of Jericho airs tonight, but at the instant TVGuide.com caught up with Scott, she gushed...

Good News, Bad News for Jericho Fans

According to a CBS press release, Jericho will be airing repeat-free in this, its freshman season, albeit with a major hitch: the drama will take a 10-week breather after staging a cliffhanger finale on Nov. 29, then return with all-new (and nothing-but-new) episodes on Feb. 21, 2007, starting with a flashback to how life was in Jericho pre-nuclear attack.

"JERICHO" TO BE PRESENTED IN TWO DISTINCT SEASONS WITH NO REPEATS

Posted by staff.

Source: CBS Press.

JERICHO, CBS's hit freshman drama about the aftermath of a nuclear explosion in a small, peaceful Kansas town, will be broadcast without repeats for the remainder of the 2006-2007 season.

The network announced today that it has devised a scheduling pattern to broadcast JERICHO in two distinct seasons. JERICHO will conclude its "fall season" with a cliffhanger finale on Wednesday, Nov. 29 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) and come back in February with all original episodes for the remainder of the season.

JERICHO will return on February 14th with a recap special looking back at the first 11 episodes, followed by an original episode on February 21st. The all-new episode on February 21st will provide a look into life in Jericho the day before the nuclear bombs exploded.

To sustain audience momentum and update potential new viewers, CBS will create an online destination for JERICHO during the show's 10-week intermission. The site will include original content, interactive elements, recaps and sneak previews.

CBS will also continue to stream all episodes of JERICHO broadcast to date on its broadband channel innertube. Currently, JERICHO is the Network's most-streamed program on innertube.

JERICHO is averaging 11.08 million viewers, 3.4/10 in adults 18-49 and 4.5/12 in adults 25-54 and has boosted CBS's performance in the Wednesday, 8:00-9:00 PM time period by +50% in viewers, +42% in adults 18-49 and +50% in adults 25-54 compared to last year.

JERICHO stars Skeet Ulrich, Gerald McRaney, Ashley Scott, Pamela Reed, Kenneth Mitchell, Lennie James, Sprague Grayden, Michael Gaston, Erik Knudsen, Brad Beyer and Shoshannah Stern.

Jon Turteltaub, Stephen Chbosky and Carol Barbee are executive producers for CBS Paramount Network Television

Jericho Recap: Crossroads

YES! Jericho came through tonight! "Crossroads" was an eventful episode this week with all the good stuff these kinds of dramas can provide. There was suspense, action, and even some pseudo-flashback activity disguised as daydreaming.

Jericho

Review by Len Sousa.

Source: Slant Magazine.

Once upon a time, movies, television, and the nightly news focused heavily on the possibility of a nuclear attack—threatening to come, at the time, from Russia or another Communist nation. Schoolchildren were told to "duck and cover" under their desks during mock air raids and all attempts were made to frighten the hell out of the American populace. Tempers eventually cooled, and we haven't heard all that much about nuclear holocaust since the end of the Cold War. That is until North Korea's recent detonation of a nuclear device and Iran's threat to do the same. With these hostilities currently brewing in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, and our own nuke history still vividly etched into our collective memory, CBS arrives with a television show that throws small-town America into the wake of a national nuclear attack.

Jericho would be a better show if it weren't so damn hammy and full of the same tired glimpses into a nuclear disaster that we've all seen time and time again.

Halloween in Jericho: Better Late Than Never

BuddyTV article.

Tonight's Jericho proves CBS loves Halloween! They've actually given the Black and Orange another day! It's Halloween at Jericho as the clueless survivors struggle to get the crabby shop keeper to part with her cache of candy corn. But will any of the kids have the nerve to dress up in one of the many Wal-Mart radiation afflicted zombie costumes?

EMP Weapons: Movies, Games, JERICHO and Reality

Article by James Carlini.

“EMP Technology has been exploited in movies like Ocean’s Eleven and Matrix: Revolutions and now on Jericho on TV, but do you really know how much damage a real E-Bomb can deliver to your corporate door-step when you are not EMP-proof?” asks James Carlini.
