The Sci-Fi comic revival continues… next up: Jericho!

JERICHO Rises in Season 3 Comic

Article by Chris Arrant.

Source: Newsrama.

After a string of nuclear attacks on 23 of the biggest cities in the United States, the survivors are left overwhelmed and under-prepared. In the small Kansas town of Jericho, the townspeople pull together (and in some cases, fall apart) as they struggle to survive on their own. In the wake of the attacks, Jericho is cut off from the rest of the world – and when they do eventually regain contact with the outside world, they see people and places more fractured and blood-thirsty than their own hometown. This story, chronicles in the recent television series Jericho on CBS, ran for two seasons and was canceled twice before not even fervent fan campaigns could bring it back to the television screen. But just as the show itself showed the tenacity of Americans in diversity, the show itself is fighting back – and fighting on, in comic book form.

Best Shots Advanced: JERICHO S3

Review by Russ Burlingame.

Spurce: Newsrama.

Most of the time, if someone hands me season three of a television show and goes, “Check this out, man, you’re gonna love it,” I do one of two things: Either I ignore them, or I go back and watch the first two seasons first to give myself some grounding. With Jericho, whose third season is a comic book miniseries, I felt no such need; I had the basic concept just from reading articles and seeing ads on TV: America has undergone a massive attack which has left us crippled and at war with ourselves. The finer details sort themselves out in this issue, which does a pretty great job of setting up the characters and the conflict for those of us who’ve never seen the show, without stepping all over the plot. Hardcore fans of the show, of course, might disagree with me...but I think they’d have a hard time disagreeing too vehemently because A LOT happens in this issue, and the last couple of pages set up for a very action-packed second issue.

The Horrid State of IT on TV Shows

I've been watching Jericho, a TV show cancelled in 2007 after a short one season but was critically acclaimed as "good TV". I agree. It is good TV.

Editor: This article is critical of some of the minute details that I certainly missed.  I guess Jericho is failry good if people have to find very small details to nitpick aobut.

No Rivals: CIMM Invites Nielsen To Set-Top RFP

Article by Wayne Friedman.

If the new Coalition for Innovative Media Measurement seemed like a competitor to Nielsen, its announced upcoming meeting on Nov. 10 with five research companies doesn't show it. As a first step in coming up with innovation regarding set-top box data, CIMM has invited Rentrak, TiVo, TRA, TNS -- and Nielsen -- to the New York City meeting as a first step to its request for proposal (RFP) process. Those five companies are current providers of set-top box data.
