Jericho Where Art Thou?

Posted by Swinebread.

Source: Atomic Romance.

Basically, I haven’t been following any primetime TV shows. I’m not doing Lost, Heroes or CSI. Yeah, yeah, but life gets in the way. The one thing I am watching is Jericho, CBS’s post-apocalyptic drama. Sounds funny to have the words post-apocalyptic and drama in the same sentence, but essentially that’s this program’s shtick. It is really bizarre to juxtapose unrequited love and adultery with nuclear fallout and social disintegration but, hey, maybe that’s the appeal for me. I’m what I call a dissonant type of guy. I enjoy putting two seemingly unlike things together just to see what you get. Kinda’ like that Hegel dialectic if ya know what I mean. So, CBS is trying something different, and that is good, right? Sure, I guess.

Article by Megan Cherkezian.

Source: TV Guide.com

No one knew what to think when CBS debuted its nuclear hit Jericho last fall and giant bomb clouds filled the distant skies with a season full of questions. Not too many of those questions have been answered thus far, but now that the show is back from its winter hiatus, viewers can expect more to be revealed as the story continues to unfold. TVGuide.com talked to Lennie James — who plays the dark, secretive know-it-all Robert Hawkins — about tonight's new episode (8 pm/ET), where we'll see what happened just hours before the bombs went off, and what we'll learn as the second half of the season unravels. James, who was very warm and welcoming over the phone — unlike his closed-off character — also hinted at upcoming danger outside of Jericho, a possible "showdown" and why those explosions happened at all

Skeet Ulrich, Carol Barbee and Lennie James Interview

Interview by Cindy White.

Source: Sci Fi Weekly.

One of the few breakout shows of this past fall season, Jericho touched a nerve with its realistic portrayal of a small town coping in the aftermath of a nuclear attack on several U.S. cities. Audiences may have tuned in for the premise, but they stuck around for the characters.

Two of the most interesting characters on the show have turned out also to be the most mysterious. In the series premiere, we met Jake, played by Skeet Ulrich, who returned to the town after a five-year absence. Where he was for those five years is just one of the secrets that will be revealed by the end of the first season.

Even less is known about Robert Hawkins, portrayed by British actor Lennie James. But even his secrets will begin coming to light soon. And according to producers Carol Barbee and Jon Turteltaub (a feature director whose credits include National Treasure) the two of them will have an interesting meeting in coming episodes.

At the Television Critics Association press tour last month, the cast and creators of the show talked with SCI FI Weekly about the show's success and what's in store for the second half of the first season. Jericho returned Wednesday, Feb. 14, with a recap episode for those who needed to catch up with the story so far, and will be followed by an all-new episode this week.
