I have to say I'm one of those nuts. No pun intended meaning the nut campaign to save the show which got it a semi-second season. The die hard fans have done it again as you can see by the picture. This show was one of the best in my opinion. It's a shame it didn't last a whole second season. The show ended giving fans what they wanted semi closure on all the events that took place. I would like nothing more than another network to pick up this show, but that is a slim chance. I suggest we all create a new network that picks up all canceled shows and brings them back to life. We can call it the AX network since all the shows were axed. Just an idea because its hard to look forward to a show that you know lays in the networks hands. We all need a network that is created by fans, and for fans.

But again it got cancelled, and the fans just didnt stop there. Now they want to have Jericho a new home, probably a new network, internet series or a motion picture! And one thing to show it is to have a billboard stating that Jericho needs a new home showing its website, contact number for anyone who is interested. So hey im not a fan of the show and honestly I didnt watch even just an episode but featuring it for maybe just a little help for its fans.. ;)

“Red teaming,” in the context of counterterrorism, is the art of thinking up an attack from the perspective of the terrorist operative. It is used extensively in planning and exercising counterterror responses. There are, however, scenarios where the post-incident consequences of a truly devilish terrorist plot are going to present a mission beyond our current imagination.

The students in Ms. Oyer's social studies classes at Boca Raton Middle School continue to show that they have learned the true meaning of civic involvement. As you may recall, Ms. Oyer's classes actively participated in the effort to fight the cancellation of the television show "Jericho" by writing protest letters to CBS and bringing in spare change to help purchase advertisements in Variety.
Not content with stopping there, Ms. Oyer and the students learned of a program where DVD's of "Jericho" are sent to troops stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Since CBS canceled Jericho for a second time on March 21, the nutty fans have not taken the news lying down. Refusing to accept the abbreviated second season as the end, fans have launched a new campaign to persuade CBS Paramount to find Jericho a new home.
The argument is that the over six million fans of Jericho would be a welcome ratings boost on networks such as SciFi, USA, TNT. Hallmark and the CW. In April, The New York Times reported that Comcast is exploring a potential partnership with CBS Paramount in a deal similar to the NBC / Direct TV pact that saved Friday Night Lights.

This is loyalty and dedication. Jericho fans have put up a billboard off Ventura Blvd, and Vineland Ave. in the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles for the show to get picked up. That's love. I don't know if it's Friday Night Lights love, but it's pretty close.

There's a big, square billboard on Ventura and Vineland. It hovers threateningly over the 7-11 and the most expensive Mobil station on the planet. Usually, it advertises movies or gentleman's clubs in Reseda. But right this second, it's advertising Jericho. Yes, the show. Jericho. Remember? The show that nobody watched, then it got canceled, then it came back because of the fans? Then nobody watched it, and it got canceled? Yes, that Jericho. The fans of Jericho have bought a very expensive billboard, wanting someone to pick up the show. They advertise it as "show for sale," like THEY'RE selling it or something.

The AFTRA-AMPTP deal closed very early this morning (while I was still asleep). First, here is AFTRA's press release and fact sheet about it, followed by the AMPTP's statement and then SAG's statement. But, in looking it over, I can see right away that AFTRA gave away major concessions when it came to the all-important clips issue by failing to do the heavy-lifting negotiating with the AMPTP and thus leaving all the power over it with the moguls for the next 3 years (and probably in perpetuity).

After all, it has been months since the show got canceled for a second time, and I don’t think I ever really talked about it in the first place. Now that our commitment is over I can tell you that we have been a Nielsen family for the last two years. This is the second time we have been a part of the Nielsel Ratings system and it’s kind of a hoot knowing that what you watch on tv influences the ratings at least somewhat. In the back of my mind I recalled people I knew who were into US TV had recommended it, and I also vaguely remember hearing critics praise it in the past. Seeing the advert on TV really got me interested and got the discs on my rental list. It took a few weeks to work my way through, and I just finished the first season tonight, and have to say its been one of the most intense TV shows I've enjoyed for a long time. This isn’t so much about a new or existing campaign but a practical way to ensure a future for Jericho. We can write all the letters we want or spend all the money we want on billboards, ads and nuts but it will not mean anything if we do not have one essential commodity, fans or more to the point a vibrant growing fan base. It is fans that can make or break a show, fans who tune in to watch, fans who purchase merchandise (DVD’s, memorabilia), fans who can rescue a show from cancellation (Friday Night Lights) or fans who can bring a show back from the dead (Jericho). Without fans nothing can be accomplished. Therefore it is important that fans should not be neglected but nurtured. How do we do this? How do we develop a vibrant, growing fan base? Let me tell you a few ways we can do this.

Just spending five minutes in a random pop culture convention is enough to make anyone realize that fans can be scary. Very, very scary. Of course, being a fan can mean more than just dressing up as a show's most scantily-clad character and wandering around a convention center. It really depends on how you define fan-dedication.

Some people are concerned that the boards are coming down. This is not the case. We spoke to CBS about this and they said that the boards would remain up until they notify everyone in advance. As far as they are concerned, they are staying up.
We are sending some special items with Mike Loomer for the auction… J&R polos, Bailey’s Tavern Shirts, Ravenwood Shirts, Cheyenne patches and some very special items like Johnston Green’s Coat. All authentic – used everyday on the set. All the proceeds will go to the Greensburg, Kansas Fund. So thank you to everyone for supporting a Kansas town in need. You have already done so much to help the efforts there.
We hope you all have the greatest weekend.
Some advice for while at Jerichon…

-Don’t let Clarke do the Running Man at the Oldies Dance
-Don’t let Loomer feed Federman nuts
-Don’t leave without writing the Jericho Fight Song
-Don’t open the bomb

While he'd love to say more, he really can't elaborate, but I thought everyone would like to know that meetings are still taking place. I think that is very good thing.
Nothing earth shattering, but I thought knowing the wheels are in motion would be good for our morale. When I asked him if I could share, he said "I just hate to release that kind of info and not be able to provide more. But if you think it will help, definitely do so".
I hope it does help.
He also told me that they'd keep us posted as things develop.

CBS unveiled a new fall lineup on Wednesday that features five new series, but some viewers will be bloody mad over one it dropped.
To make room for the new fare, CBS canceled the vampire series "Moonlight," a show that had a small but intensely loyal following. In doing so, the network may find itself dealing with another outpouring of fan outrage a la "Jericho" last season.

Mike Shaw, president of ad sales for ABC, plans to call on advertisers to push the Nielsen Co. to measure TV shows viewed on cable video-on-demand services.
ABC has made deals with cable operators that make its programs available free if the fast-forward button on remote controls is disabled.
“This should be a business that is in all of our interests,” said Mr. Shaw, in a draft of a speech to be delivered at the network’s upfront presentation Tuesday afternoon.

As buyers and sellers head into a final round of upfront sales presentations by the major TV networks in New York this week the main talk will be about the fall TV schedules that typically trigger the start of billions of dollars in annual TV advertising sales. But if you listen closely, you may hear them discussing a dirty little secret: That for the second year in a row, those billions of dollars in upfront advertising buys will be negotiated, bought and sold on the basis of somewhat shaky, and still unaccredited Nielsen TV ratings.

Television heads into its biggest week with the hangover from a 100-day writers strike persisting.
Viewership is down, although it's hard to tell how much the strike is to blame. This week's "upfront" presentations by broadcasters outlining their fall schedules, which annually precedes a multibillion dollar ad buying binge, promises to be much different than before.

Jericho’s Nutty Fans Protest Nielsen’s Ratings SystemThe ex-CBS drama Jericho has fallen victim for the second time to cancellation based on inaccurate and antiquated Nielsen ratings. Network TV executives have long been aware of Nielsen’s errors. This year, things will be flipped on their head.
With many pilots yet to be shot and many existing series already in production on their 2008-09 orders, networks might end up showing clips from returning shows' upcoming seasons and introducing new shows through their casts.

We've just finished Season 1 of Jericho. I can honestly say that it was one of the best series I have ever seen. I'm absolutely devastated that it was cancelled, and then cancelled again after its brief resurrection. I think this is another example of my complete inability to understand US tv networks. Firefly, Angel, Studio 60, and now Jericho - all thrown out long before their time.

When fans were able to bring back Jericho by bombarding CBS with tons of nuts, they thought they made an impression. However, the series has now become double dead with the second season cut short after just seven episodes. Fans were disappointed, and a few are still hopeful that they could pull off another save-the-show campaign. The fact that the show was shut down twice says something about Jericho. The low-rated show just can't survive on CBS.
Editor: The role Sprague was offered is a reoccurring role, and would not be an obstacle to her being in Jericho.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. You brightened my day and reminded me again of how passionate JERICHO fans are. Just one of the many reasons I will

Sincerely,

Jericho, canceled by CBS for a second time a few weeks ago, is yet again showing signs of life. CBS Paramount Network Television, which owns the show, is talking to Comcast about a partnership deal in which the show would air first on Comcast, later on CBS. (NBC last month saved another cult favorite with marginal ratings, Friday Night Lights, by striking a similar deal with Direct TV.)

I told you this would happen, and now it has: the Alliance for Motion Picture and Television Producers representing the Big Media moguls finally acknowledged today that after 13 days the negotiations with SAG are at a stalemate with only 2 days left go. And, as I predicted, the AMPTP is blaming everything on the Screen Actors Guild. I can't help but admire how faithfully the Hollywood CEOs follow the scripts they write. Especially at a time when the movie studios have put into effect a de facto feature strike
