Comcast and Time Warner say that their 'TV Everywhere' experiment will extend cable programming to the Internet "free and on demand," that is, as long as you are a cable subscriber. Should advocates of the free, online video model be worried?
Note: This ties into Epix and expalins further the method carriers will use to identify subscribers to allow them access to the EpixHD website.

I've just finished watching Season 2 of Jericho. What I really hate about living out of the US is that we really don't get a say in how a TV show will do rating wise. Apparently, this was axed after Season One but because of a fantastic run of fan support sending nuts to CBS in protest (yep, that's right, nuts - it's a reference to the final episode of season one). Alas apparently the ratings didn't pick up and the show was officially cancelled. I watched both endings they had on the DVD. And am saddened there will not be a season 3. It would have been a kick arse season.

Days after the television industry has converted from analog to digital broadcasting, Nielsen Co. unveiled plans to step up how "follows the video" across all of the platform that people watch it on, including "enhanced" TV, online and mobile. In an expansion of a relationship it entered into with copyright protection company Digimarc in 2007, Nielsen Monday announced plans for two new, 50/50 joint ventures to monitor the consumption of video content wherever it shows up.

Ratkeeper attended Richard Speight Jr's benefit in the San Francisco Bay area yesterday. She had a chance to speak with him and he stated that there is still a chance the movie will be made. The fact that the cast still has this on their radar screen is very encouraging news. That is why we need to really get out in front on the comic book and make sure we do everything we can to sell as many units as possible. As I have stated since last year this is about the numbers, ratings and dollars.
Keep the Faith
Redsox
The movie shown at the benefit was North Beach: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0226225/ North Beach was made by Richard and his college friends, in fact Richard's wife, Jaci Hays, is in the movie. Every few years, Richard and his friends have a reunion and show the movie.
After the movie, everyone went outside and Richard moved from group to group talking to everyone. He had seen our tee-shirts, so when he came to our group he greet us as " real live Jericho fans". He asked our names and where we were from. We replied East Bay and then Richard apologized for the East Bay jokes in the movie.
He invited us to join the group at the bar on the corner and signed the items we had brought with us. We were able to ask him about the Jericho movie, and he told us the cast has heard the same rumors. He said there is some interest, but nothing official yet. He said that he thinks the odds the movie will get made are about 50-50 right now.
Although there were only three Jericho fans in our group, we did outnumber the one Supernatural fan that showed up. Richard actually apologized to all of us for the short notice and promised to give us more notice next time.
Please watch the season two finale tonight and send your feedback with renewed hope, since we still have a chance to see more Jericho.

Aasif Mandvi was just another working-class teenage Asian boy living in Bradford when his parents announced the family were leaving Britain for a new life in the United States. "I remember looking at photographs of where we were heading and thinking I was going on holiday for the rest of my life." We are in a suite in a smart hotel in Philadelphia, PA, an ideal place to reflect on the journey Mandvi's life has made: the boy from Bradford is now a familiar face on US television as one of the regular correspondents on The Daily Show, which is broadcast on the Comedy Central cable channel in the US and More4 in the UK.

I just watched the two seasons of Jericho. What a great show. What a shame people were to damn stupid not to watch it when it was on the air. (That counts me too.) Second chances are available at Netflix and on DVD.
