Jericho 2....day 7

Article by Philip W. Palmer.

Source: The Sound Cart.

Yesterday was quite a day, long and hot. We started the day at 6am, pretty normal for a Monday here in LA...but it was a 14 hour day and I rolled in my door at about 8:30 last night. Exhausted and it's only the first day of the week.

The cast and producers went to ComiCon this past Sunday and we heard the stories. It was an amazing turnout to the panel. They were absolutely blown away by the response and fan support. The fans really own the show. If it weren't for all of you out there, we would all be doing something else this year...but Jericho lives. Lennie gave me the run down of all the questions, the cheers, the Rangers...he's hilarious. We laughed...and watched more YouTube Jericho videos. Yes, we watch them...

Jericho begins

Article by Philip W. Palmer.

Source: The Sound Cart.

We started photography for Season 2 of Jericho this past week. Lots of changes in the crew, as many left for other shows at the notice of cancellation. We have an entirely different Camera, Grip and Electric department. The show is looking great and we have some great stories developing for the fans that brought us back. We hope they are as excited as we are.

One of the highlights of our trip to Comic Con in San Diego was getting to sit down with the cast and producers of "Jericho". We were able to throw out a bunch of questions on the upcoming season and they delivered with a ton of answers. The interview consisted of series stars Skeet Ulrich, Lennie James and Ashley Scott. Also on hand were Executive Producer Carol Barbee, Co-Executive Producer Karim Zriek, Co-Executive Producer Dan Shotz and Co-Creator and Producer Jonathan Steinberg.

CBS.COM AND CBS MOBILE ARE EMMY FINALISTS IN THE CATEGORY OF INTERACTIVE TV PROGRAMMING FOR "THE JERICHO EXPERIENCE"

Posted by staff.

Source: CBS Press.

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced on Thursday, July 19 that "The Jericho Experience" on CBS.com and "Big Brother Goes Mobile" on CBS Mobile are finalists for a possible Emmy award in the category of Interactive TV Programming.

In November 2006, CBS.com launched the website http://www.whodroppedthebomb.com/. The site, also known as "The Jericho Experience," made history by becoming the rallying point for fans of the series JERICHO who banded together and sent the network 50,000 pounds of nuts to protest the show's cancellation in May 2007. Due to the fans' impassioned support, CBS ordered seven additional episodes of JERICHO for mid-season.

"The Jericho Experience" features a number of online activities containing community message boards, a fan generated wiki, exclusive footage with the cast and producers and full-length "Insiders' Commentary" of various episodes, which include comments from the show's producers, writers, directors and actors, as well as original episodes of the online JERICHO webumentary "Countdown."

JERICHO is CBS's drama about how residents of a small, peaceful, Kansas town band together to survive in the wake of a nuclear explosion. Rebroadcasts of episodes from the first season are currently airing on Friday nights, 9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT for the remainder of the summer. JERICHO stars Skeet Ulrich, Ashley Scott, Kenneth Mitchell, Lennie James, Brad Beyer and Alicia Coppola. Jon Turteltaub and Carol Barbee are executive producers of JERICHO for CBS Paramount Network Television.

What's coming next on 'Jericho'?

Interview by Maurenn Ryan.

Source: The Watcher (Chicago Tribune).

"Jericho" was famously revived by fans who barraged the network with pleas to save the show – and who also sent CBS a whole lot of nuts.

Now creative minds behind the drama have an action plan for the new, seven-episode season of the show: Work more edible, send-able treats into the show.

Do Yourself A Favor, Watch Jericho

Article by Doug Mataconis.

Source: Below the Beltway.

If you missed it during the regular season, CBS is rerunning Jericho on Friday nights during the fall. summer. Do yourself a favor and give it a chance.

The premise, in case you’ve been living under a rock since September, is that the United States has been subjected to devastating attack from unknown sources; 23 American cities are gone and the United States Government is in a shambles. Among the survivors are the residents of a small town in Kansas called Jericho and the show focuses on their efforts to survive and understand what kind of new world they’re living in. Throughout the first season, a few intriguing clues are given about who may have been behind the attacks, but nothing is left clear and motive is barely even explored. By the time the season ends, chaos is erupting in Kansas as neighboring towns go to war.

The show was canceled but has been given a reprieve in the form of a seven episode run starting in February 2008. If the show is going to come back, ratings are going to have to improve.

One of the greatest successes made in the past few weeks by Jericho fans is that Nina Tassler seems to have been turned into a “Jericho buzz believer.” Rob Owen, with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette even captured part of the puzzle of what turned Tassler around from saying as go the ratings so goes the show.

Tuned In: Reality bites in 'Kid Nation'; 'Jericho' fans still nuts

Article by Rob Owen.

First they sent nuts, then they went nuts.

This week "Jericho" fans bombarded TV critics here with pestering e-mails asking for any and all information on their favorite show that comes out of CBS's portion of press tour (as if we wouldn't have done that without their encouragement).

Breaking News: THE SCOOP ON 'JERICHO' - SEASON 2 AND YES, THE POSSIBILITY OF SEASON 3

Article by Carl Cortez.

Source: if Magazine.

It was a big deal that CBS, after prematurely canceling their great series JERICHO, would be swayed by fan support (remember, they sent the net nuts to get them to reconsider) and give the show a seven-episode second season to air Midseason.

Today at CBS' Summer press tour, iF Magazine managed to speak with executive producer Carol Barbee who gave us a tease as to what to expect from the new season.

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN 'JERICHO' RETURNS

Article by Gael Fashingbauer Cooper.

Source: Test Pattern.

One of the most-anticipated panels at summer press tour, at least for me, was Thursday's "Jericho" discussion, featuring stars Skeet Ulrich, Lennie James, and Ashley Scott, and executive producer Carol Barbee. These are four people who, not that long ago, didn't expect to be here, and certainly didn't expect to be working together again. Yet thanks to persistent, dedicated fans who flooded CBS with e-mails and nuts, the show has been given a second life -- just seven episodes starting in January, but a second life nonetheless.

That was the message from the CBS Entertainment president Wednesday as the network, known for its safe fare, is gearing up for the growing controversy around upcoming series "Swingtown" and "Kid Nation."

Overall, the departures of "Criminal Minds" star Mandy Patinkin and "NCIS" creator Don Bellisario and the return of the canceled drama "Jericho" dominated CBS' executive session at the Television Critics Assn.'s summer press tour at the Beverly Hilton.

Is Jericho Fever Catching?

Article by Joal Ryan.

Source: Eonline.com.

Don't go nuts just yet.

Yes, Jericho returned for its summer rerun run on CBS last week. And, yes, the back-from-the-dead series won its time slot. But the jury's still out on whether the show can add to its ranks of peanut-packing faithful.

Airing in the 9 p.m. Friday hour, Jericho averaged 4.6 million viewers, settling for a 51st-place finish in the holiday-weakened week, per the latest Nielsen Media Research rankings.

On the upside for Jericho fans, their beloved did in the summer what it couldn't do in the regular season: Beat the competition.

FEATURED: TV Shows that Put the "Cult" in "Cult Classic"

Article by Anthony Burch.

Source: TubeWad.

It is with a great deal of pleasure, then, that we count up some of the cultiest cults in all of television fandom: those cults that follow shows which, for some reason or another, inspire belief, faith, anger, love, action, and unwavering dedication – all at the same time.

Jericho is the second in the list.

CBS Scouting 'Jericho' Nuts

Article by staff.

Source: AOL News.

Forty thousand pounds of peanuts sent to CBS helped resurrect Jericho after cancellation, but the apocalyptic drama will need to add a much higher number of viewers if it hopes to live beyond seven second-season episodes.

The series, which follows a Kansas town's recovery after nuclear Armageddon, returns tonight (9 ET/PT) with a repeat of its pilot. A July 13 recap of the first 12 episodes, Return to Jericho (8 ET/PT), will precede the 13th episode (9 ET/PT), with episodes 14 through 22, the season finale, following each Friday at 9.

“Jericho” Has Long-term Plans

Article by Michael Hickerson.

Source: Slice of SciFi.

Obsessed fans and several thousand tons of nuts brought back the CBS drama “Jericho” for seven episodes to wrap-up the series.

But it appears that producer Carol Barbee has plans for the show to continue beyond those seven episodes.

“We are not closing this story out,” Barbee told Broadcast and Cable. “We have a story to tell. It’s a really rich story, and we’ve got it mapped out for quite a while. The network suggested doing a two-hour movie to wrap up this story. We weren’t in any way interested in closing it down
