Jericho fans in mourning for the show have a reason to smile again. For the second time this month, a former Jericho cast member is guest starring on the new CBS show Flashpoint! This week, Kenneth Mitchell appears as a wife-abusing cop taken hostage by an angry family member in the episode entitled "Asking for Flowers". A bit of a departure from Eric Green, huh? Mitchell says he's heard rumors of a Jericho film and he'd love to do it. Fingers crossed.
Posted by Fred. Source: TVoholic. It’s a recurring question that I’ve been asking myself on many occasions. While it seems widely accepted by every major party on the business that, however flawed Nielsen ratings maybe, they have been an established ratings measurement institution for many years and everyone just agrees to accept whatever numbers they come up with because, at the end of the day, they are believed to represent an overall “accurate” representation of which TV shows are the most watched every day, one can’t help but wonder.

They are increasingly turning to the Internet and to mobile devices so that they can view favorite TV shows, movie trailers and user-generated content on their own time schedule. Creator, Javier Grillo-Marxuach, and star Matt Keeslar of ABC Family’s The Middleman appeared at Comic Con 2008 to a packed room of the show’s fans. After the panel session they signed autographs, along with comic illustrator, Les McClain who drew The Middleman comic series. Both Javi and Matt took a few minutes out of their hectic schedules at the booth to talk about where the show is going, and how they come up with all those pop culture references.
Editor: There are Jericho references in the strangest places. Jericho has a mention as a possible pop culture reference in The Middleman.

By coupling a combined effort by international fans to honor General McAuliffe with the controversial NTN movement I believe the stateside leaders of the campaign did the effort a disservice. The mods on the Jericho boards at UHD have been giving us tips on what has worked in the past for the Browncoats to increase their board's traffic and get the admin at UHD to take notice. One of their weekly deals is to host a Shindig (or in our case a Ranger Rally). What they do is all gather when Firefly is airing on UHD and watch the show together while posting on the special Shindig thread that is started each week for the show. It's a good way to spike the board's activity for an hour or two at a set time on one day and make the powers that be notice that there is still interest in both the show airing on their network and in the messageboard.

And, we might just buy you a drink…if you’re in Toronto.
The picture to be included will be a maximum of 3”x4”. It’s small, but it’s going on a 4x6 postcard, black and white. The art can be anything you choose that is Jericho related. It can be compilations, cartoons, caricatures … anything you want.
All images must be posted/submitted by August 10th, and voting will take place shortly thereafter. They will need to be sent to print by the 15th, so there is only a short window to vote. Please do NOT go on vacation that week! : )

In an International protest the Fans of Jericho are protesting the antiquated Nielsen ratings system both stateside in Tampa Bay and in Europe at Bastogne, Belgium. The first is yet another “Nuts” to Nielsen friendly shelling of a local media outlet, The Tampa Bay Business Journal to protest Nielsen’s horrendous treatment of American workers in the Tampa Bay Area. The Latter is a tribute to General McAuliffe who in World War 2 held off the Germans at a critical battle in Bastogne, Belgium. When he was asked to surrender vastly outnumbered he responded “Nuts”. This became the signature scene in the Jericho Season 1 Finale and the battle Cry behind Save Jericho campaigns. Nuts to Nielsen have previously protested by sending over 5,000 pounds of Nuts to the Nielsen Oldsmar facility, Variety Magazine, Hollywood Reporter and Nielsen Headquarters.

Knudsen plays a former drug addict, trying to change his life. We recently got a moment to chat with Knudsen about what he's been up to since Jericho's final episode. By the way, Flashpoint's debut on July 11th won the night for total viewers. This is the translated text:
Not only the Americans are fighting for their favorite series. This time is to send flowers to Bastogne, Belgium. Just to bring home to CBS?
General Anthony "Nuts" McAuliffe
When the second season of Jericho was canceled, fans have launched a campaign to force CBS to reconsider. In a few weeks arrived tons of peanuts to the headquarters of the channel and managers were affected by both enthusiasm as to reconsider their decision.
Complice also strike the scriptwriters, which opened chasms in the programming schedules, CBS has given Jericho un'opportinità: two lira budget and time available worse. By networking leaked the first three episodes two months before being aired.
But Jericho went on the air the same, with seven episodes that have melted the hearts of its most loyal fans. Only those, unfortunately: bad ratings, and the dream of going forward svaniva again.
Now there is a new campaign to save Jericho, and part of Europe. This is not to send more peanuts, but to send flowers to Bastogne, Belgium. The site organizes the Spanish jerichoseries.forogeneral.es / forum / portal.php, where you can find more details.
If you are grattando the head asking why, eccolo explained: the peanuts the first year were related to a bar one of the protagonists, though vedendosi accerchiato all'intimazione yield by the enemy replied "Nuts!" American slang term that in this case could translate "with cabbage", but which in fact literally means "peanuts".
The battura of Jake Green resumed a fact happened during the Second World War, when during the Battle of Bastogne, the U.S. general Anthony C. McAuliffe, commander of airborne 101esimo, all'ultimatum of Germans said, precisely, "nuts".
For the record, the German 101esimo resisted all'assalto until reinforcements arrived, making it possible to win the battle. McAuliffe was decorated with a medal and lived until 1975.
There is to say, however, that, according to a reconstruction of the English press, the word pronounced and officially sent to the German commander was not exactly "nuts" but another word of four letters less educated (perhaps "frak"?). The version for the public was then "cleared" by the press officers of the army.
Certainly if the word had been the one that starts with where it ends with the t, the protest of American fans would have had, uhm, everything another impact ...

Jeremiahrong> is set in a future post-apocalyptic world where, almost a decade before, a deadly virus wiped out the world's adult population sparing only those who haven't reached puberty. Now in their 20s, the oldest survivors of the pandemic include Jeremiah and the colorful but cynical Kurdy. Jeremiah is on a personal quest to relocate a mysterious place called Valhalla, which his father claimed, might hold some hope for the survivors. As Jeremiah falls into a reluctant partnership with Kurdy, both explore new areas and encounter other groups of young adults who are divided into rival social groups. In the course of the season opener, Jeremiah's smaller personal quest is redirected when he discovers a group of highly organized survivors who want to enlist him to orchestrate peace among the warring factions and to try and prevent the killer virus from returning.

Some of us have seen this movie and think it is unusual and interesting enough to mention.p>
Let’s be upfront and just get it out in the open, this is a popcorn action flick and is not going to be nominated for any awards for either acting or writing. Still, as the first movie to hit the screens both filmed in and meant to be shown in Real-D™ this one actually delivers.
We won’t go too much into this new 3D process, other than this is simply a far better and more immersive 3D processes than those which have come before. The picture is clear and less prone to blurring.
This movie is one huge theme-park ride with a pulp-novel Saturday Matinee feel and is aimed at the family market. If you want to get a feel for the direction the movie industry is headed than this movie will certainly deliver.

To say that to some extent Jericho Fans are frazzled would be an understatement. 4 Months have gone by since the cancellation of the show a second time; 4 months of waiting with very little to sustain them. This is no ones fault per se; the producers of the show have been attempting to negotiate new deals for Jericho while continuing on with their daily responsibilities. Such things take time so the fans mission, which they have chosen to accept, is to wait and believe in tomorrow.

Not content to allow the show to die, fans have waged two battles to have their beloved show renewed. The first battle involving 20 tons of nuts resulted in a shortened second season renewal. However, CBS again refused to renew the show, which has developed a close-knit and productive fan following.

Jason Moore – alias “Rubber Poultry” to those who know their way around cyberspace – is the kind of fan that most sci fi TV shows, and those responsible for making and marketing them, would kill to call their own. Any forward-thinking television executive would be well-advised to make some room in the annual budget for human cloning and duplicate this Ranger posthaste. Why? Well, if you’d been following the Save Jericho Again campaign, you wouldn’t have to ask such a silly question. But feel free to pull up a chair, sit back and enjoy the tale, anyway.

News about SAG and AMPTP negotiations, and AMPTP attempts newsblackout.
Posted by Nikki Finke. Source: Deadline Hollywood Daily. Despite the AMPTP's prickly statement tonight, and SAG's terse one (see both below), I can tell you what really went on in today's very crucial negotiating session... Today, SAG made a full counter-proposal to the Big Media cartel negotiating group's supposed "last best final" offer put on the table June 30th. I'm told SAG and the AMPTP "got closer together today" because the union worked hard to "remove some of the differences" and "made a number of moves" in the AMPTP's direction.

When a Lehman Brothers analyst downgrades your whole industry, it kind of makes you sit up and take notice. You’d think an announcement like that would ripple through the internet knee jerk mechanism called the Stock Market. Especially hit might be stocks like The Walt Disney Co., News Corp., CBS Corp., Time Warner Inc. and Viacom Inc..
Oh, wait - that did happen. Earlier this week, Lehman Brothers analyst Anthony DiClemente predicted that digital technology, ie: digital media, will have an impact on DVD sales, and hence, the profits that the TV and movie industry tends to rely on. Just like it did the music industry. It’s noted that profits have already dropped ~12% per Blu-ray disc products that are offered as iTunes downloads.

NBC has fashioned a measurement system it’s calling “total audience measurement index,” or TAMI, which combines data from Nielsen Media Research and other audience trackers Omniture and Rentrak. Alan Wurtzel, president of research for NBCU, tells the NYT that the goal is not to offer inflated numbers based on the Nielsen records, which tends to be lower than sites’ internal numbers. He says NBC simply wants a more comprehensive view of the way viewers experience the internet and TV coverage.

I told him he was going to find more emails today and tonight from us and I really, really, REALLY think we need to flood them with emails this week. We also might want to up our streaming of Fancast as well. He was very interested in our success so far and wished us even more. I told him that when we find new people we send them to both CBS and Comcast to stream the show and he's also going to mention to them about On Demand again.
He did say his office had only....and this is a bit shocking...his office had only received 10 emails since Dec. of 2007 asking for Jericho to be shown......now my dear rangers....I know we can do better than 10 emails in 4 months! Although he did say he had heard a lot about the show in the past 4 months, so that was very good to hear.

But in the middle of all that, they are finding time to help the troops overseas. This past Christmas, they sent over 100 season 1 DVDs to troops, and this year they are doubling that effort.
