We estimated that about half of the postcards went to existing fans and the other half went to potential fans. There were many fans that had not gotten any news about the potential movie and some were very emotional after they heard the news. It was a very uplifting experience to speak to so many people who love the show.
There was a very earnest young man who came up to the table and said he saw the Jericho cast at last year's WonderCon. He wanted to know if Jericho's numbers were high enough for a renewal and if so when would it be back on. I couldn't believe that he had the patience to wait a whole year for an update and his story is now an inspiration to me. I'm so glad that I was able to cushion the blow of the cancellation with news of the possible movie.

Welcome Home to Jericho Charity Event
WELCOME HOME TO JERICHO EVENT EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION, CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY ANNOUNCEMENT
Because of the many advance preparations in connection with the Welcome Home to Jericho Charity Event, attendee cancellation and refund deadlines are as follows:
~ Full refund of registration and event costs for cancellations received prior to March 15, 2009.
~ 90% refund for cancellations received from March 15 -- March 24, 2009.
~ 75% refund for cancellations received from March 25 -- April 3, 2009.
~ 25% refund for cancellations received from April 4 -- April 10, 2009.
~ No refund for cancellations received after April 10, 2009.
There will be NO refunds on T-Shirts, the Operation Home Cooking Cookbook, or Sponsorships of any level if an attendee cancels at any time. DVD purchases will be refunded at 100%.
Pre-registration will guarantee you a filled reception bag at check-in, a personalized Souvenir Event ID Badge, access to all chosen events and speakers, a t-shirt in your size & keepsake tickets to the events you choose. (Access will be limited to the Maximum Occupancy restrictions in accordance with Fire Safety laws and regulations.)
If the Welcome Home to Jericho Charity Event is cancelled by the Event organizers or is cancelled for circumstances beyond the Event organizers' control, all payments connected with the charity event with the exception of the Operation Home Cooking Cookbook will be refunded. Proceeds collected through the sales of the cookbook will be forwarded to Operation Homefront.
EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION HAS ITS ADVANTAGES.
The current economic situation affects everyone, including non-profit organizations and fundraising efforts. The WHTJ Event organizers must first limit the full complimentary supply of items to online pre-registered attendees and online orders for Event merchandise in accordance with the limited planning budget. Although on-site/walk-in registrations will be accepted, there will be a 15% increase in registration fees and may cause a lengthy delay in supplying the complimentary items. The WHTJ Event organizers have worked very hard to bring the best product at the lowest possible cost.
