"Where Season Two picks up from is that battle that we've left our characters in, and in the first seven minutes of Episode 1 we pay off that battle," says executive producer Karim Zreik. "We show you what happened, which side was victorious, and pick up two weeks after the war, after that battle."
The Cheyenne government is helping Jericho rebuild and get back on its feet. "One of the main characters for next season is played by Esai Morales. He plays Maj. Beck, who is one of the military leaders that comes in to help our town rebuild itself," says Zreik. "What he brings is this viewpoint of what happened out there. He gives his version of the attacks to our townspeople and gives us a backstory of what the country is now doing to help rebuild itself."
Upcoming stories include what happens when the corporation of Jennings and Rall ally themselves with the new Cheyenne government. And "There are characters that we met briefly in season one that come back for these seven episodes,' he says.
Look for the mythology to take center stage in this mini-second season, says Zreik. "Who was behind these attacks? How did they go about pulling them off? What was Hawkin's role in all this? Is he really telling the truth? What is his investment in this town? Why Jericho? We're peeling more layers off of that story. You will get to see more storylines with Jake and Hawkins together . . . Both of these characters take a huge turn in these seven episodes."
And there's romance in the air. "Jake and Emily are together, we play that. They're back in love and dating." And Mimi and Stanley and Eric and Mary Bailey will remain couples. "Lots of romance. Lot of love. You can still find love after an attack," says Zreik.
